The Bloedorn Lumber Company was established in Torrington, Wyoming in April of 1919 and consisted of a lumber yard in Torrington and one in Lingle, Wyoming. At some point the Lingle yard was closed but the company still was able to grow to a modern retail lumber and building material company with 15 home centers located in Wyoming, two in Colorado, two in Nebraska and two in Montana with one building components manufacturing plant in Cody, Wyoming. There are approximately 275 employees in the company today.
The Bloedorn Lumber Company's general accounting office is also located in Torrington. In November, 2009, the company purchased the old First National Bank building located at 2120 Main Street. Most of that winter and spring Bloedorn management worked with architects redesigning the building. Demolition began in May 2010 of the building's interior and reconstruction began that fall. The facility was completed for the accounting offices to move from its location at 201 West A over the weekend of June 24, 2011.
Bloedorn Lumber Company employes six full time and two part-time people to do the payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable statements and other support functions for all the yards. The company's computer system is located at the new office and there are two full-time IT people on staff. The four corporate officer's offices are also located in the new office building.
